Basic Concept: Each week you pick a team to win. If it wins (straight up, no spreads), you survive. If it doesn’t win (including a tie), you’re out of the pool. Last person remaining is the winner!
Choose your Game Type:
Pick Winners — Players pick a team to win each week.
Pick Losers — Players pick a team to lose each week.
Choose Number of Strikes (1 or 2):
Normally one strike and you’re out. Can be increased so players must miss twice before elimination.
Choose Number of Byes (0, 1, or 2):
Byes let a player skip a week without getting a strike. If a player has a bye available and doesn’t make any picks, the bye is automatically used for that week.
Choose Number of Games to Pick Each Week (1 or 2):
Default is one game a week. When set to 2, each game missed counts as a strike.
Choose Number of Times a Team May Be Picked (1, 2, or unlimited):
Limits players from repeatedly picking the same dominant team.
Choose Number of Times a Team May Be Picked Against (1, 2, or unlimited):
Limits players from repeatedly picking the same bad team to lose.
Choose Whether a Tie Counts as a Strike:
By default a tie counts as a strike (since the team didn’t win). The commissioner can change this so a tie doesn’t count against the player.
Choose the Deadline for your pool:
Default — Picks due before kickoff of each game, or noon Saturday (NCAA/Combo) or 1:00 PM Sunday (NFL), whichever is earlier.
First Game — All picks due before kickoff of the first game.
Game Start — Picks due before kickoff of each individual game.
