How to Play College Bowl Football Pools

  • Choose the Type of Game — we offer 4 ways to score:
    • Weighted (1–n) — Assign confidence points to each game, 1–N, where N is the number of games in your pool (up to 42 if you use all the bowl games). Each game must have a unique confidence number. Win the number of points assigned to a game if you correctly pick the winner.
    • Fixed — Win 1 point per game if you correctly pick the winner.
    • Custom Weights — The commissioner assigns the weights of each game. Win the number of points the game is worth if you correctly pick the winner.
    • Bonus Points — Games are worth 1–3 points depending upon the spread. Pick the favorite or underdog of 3 or less spread — 1 point. Pick underdog between 3.5 and 7 spread — 2 points. Pick underdog with spread greater than 7 — 3 points.
  • Choose whether you use a Spread or not:
    • If the spread is Team A −3.5 points over Team B and you pick Team B, you win as long as Team B wins or Team A wins by fewer than 3.5 points.
    • Or just pick the outright winner (the spread shown for reference only).
  • Control Which Games Are in Your Pool:
    • Your pool commissioner selects which bowl games you play.
  • Choose the Pool Deadline:
    • The commissioner can set the deadline for all picks anytime between the first game and the final game of the Bowl Season. Picks can be changed up to the deadline or the kickoff of a game, whichever is earlier.
  • Optional: Tie-Breaker
    • Predict the final score of a selected game in your pool. Tie-breaker determines the winner if two or more players tie after all games have been played.
    • Commissioner can prioritize from five tie-breaker options: correct winner pick, best win/loss percentage, closest to the winning team’s score, closest to the losing team’s score, or closest to the combined score.
    • Note: Correct winner means who had more points on the actual winner than on the loser of the game in the tiebreaker, not who they picked in the pick em part. You are allowed to have your tiebreaker winner (more points) be different from whom you picked to win the game. The tiebreaker winner does not use the spread.
  • Most points wins!
  • Picks are due before kickoff of each game, or the deadline chosen by the commissioner, whichever is earlier.
